About Dinah & The Dogs

Meet Dinah
Hi, I’m Dinah — the lead trainer behind Dinah & The Dogs. My journey with dogs began in 2017, when I discovered my passion for understanding their behavior and helping them thrive. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to learning, growing, and sharing that knowledge with others.
I’ve completed several professional training programs, including:
- AAAA Vetted Trainer
- “Reactive to Neutral” Course Tom Davis
- “E-Collar Introduction” Course Tom Davis
- “Kick Start Course” Tom Davis
- Various Online Seminars
- Certified AKC Evaluator
- Professional Dog Trainer Program Dunbar Academy
- Solve Behavior Problems Program Dunbar Academy
- Almost 8 years of hands-on experience
I have had the privilege of learning hands-on under professional trainers while working with my own dogs. My specialties are in service dog training and behavior modification. In 2022, when I became disabled and began the journey of training my own service dog, my passion for this work deepened. Growing up alongside reactive, fearful, and aggressive dogs also shaped my understanding and compassion for challenging cases.
As a hands-on learner, I dedicated years to training every dog I could — for free — to gain experience and refine my skills. Over time, I grew confident in my ability to help both dogs and their owners achieve meaningful progress. Now, I am committed to sharing the freedom, confidence, and joy that come from living with a well-trained dog.
Beyond hands-on dog training, I’m currently finishing my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Communications, which deepens my understanding of behavior, learning, and the human-animal bond. My journey in expanding my training education is ongoing because I believe in providing the best for you and your pup.
What sets me apart is not just the education, but the heart behind it — years of experience working with dogs of all temperaments, from the shy and nervous to the bold and energetic. My goal is to guide both dog and owner with patience, empathy, and practical skills that create real results.
At Dinah & The Dogs, training isn’t just about obedience — it’s about building a relationship rooted in trust, confidence, and joy.

Meet Emily
Hi, I’m Emily — the Communications Director here at Dinah & The Dogs. I help manage client communication, support our programs behind the scenes, and make sure families feel informed, prepared, and supported throughout their training experience.
My journey with dogs began with a deep love for understanding how they think, learn, and communicate. That passion naturally led me to become involved in the dog training world, where I developed a strong appreciation for the relationship between dogs and their people, and the importance of clear, thoughtful communication every step of the way.
At Dinah & The Dogs, I focus on helping clients navigate their training journey by assisting with scheduling, program communication, updates, and making sure each family has the information they need to feel confident and prepared. I believe that a positive client experience matters just as much as the training itself, and I love helping create that connection.
I’m passionate about supporting a team that is dedicated to helping dogs build confidence and helping owners feel empowered in everyday life. Being part of that process and watching dogs and families grow together is one of the most rewarding parts of my role.

Meet Tey
Hi, I’m Tey — an apprentice trainer here at Dinah & The Dogs, working closely under Dinah’s mentorship while continuing to build my skills and education in professional dog training.
My journey with dogs began with a genuine love for understanding their behavior and the unique ways they communicate. That curiosity quickly grew into a passion for helping dogs feel confident and helping their people feel empowered, supported, and connected to their training process. I believe that patience, consistency, and clear communication are the keys to creating lasting results.
I’m currently completing professional online courses while gaining hands-on experience through mentorship, workshops, and real-world client work. Through my apprenticeship with Dinah, I’m developing strong training mechanics, timing, and problem-solving skills while learning the “why” behind each method so every dog receives thoughtful, ethical, and effective training.
You’ll often see me assisting with Day Train and Board & Train programs, supporting daily training sessions, reinforcing foundations, and helping dogs practice real-life skills and confidence in a variety of environments. I love being part of each dog’s progress and celebrating the small wins that lead to big changes.
My goal is to create a positive, encouraging experience for both dogs and their families while continuing to grow as a trainer every day. I’m excited to learn, serve our community, and help each team build a strong, trusting relationship here at Dinah & The Dogs.

Mildred (Millie)
Millie joined our family in 2018 after being found as a stray outside a shelter. We knew right away she was meant to come home with us. She is half Husky, Blue Heeler, and a tiny bit of American Pit Bull. She brings a big personality in a small package. At home, Millie serves as a psychiatric service dog, taking her role to heart. She’s sassy, energetic, and happiest when she has a job to do.

Gustavo (Gus)
Gus joined our family in 2023 with the goal of becoming a medical alert and mobility service dog. Weighing in at over 100 pounds, this Newfoundland–Poodle mix is truly a gentle giant. Despite his size, Gus is the biggest baby you’ll ever meet — he loves being included in everything and radiates pure joy just by being himself. Fun fact: his favorite color is pink, which perfectly complements his rich chocolate-colored coat.

Dublin
Dublin is Emily's current Service Dog. She joined her family in 2021 to become a psychiatric service dog. Emily served in the United States Air Force for over 10 years! Dublin is an incredibly sweet but also serious girl who loves spending her days cuddling with her mom and "staring into her soul". Dublin loves to play fetch with her favorite pink wiffle ball!

Moira
Moira is a show-line Golden Retriever being raised and trained as Emily’s future service dog. She is incredibly sweet-natured and has never met a stranger — she truly loves everyone and everything she encounters. One of her most charming traits is how politely she sits to ask for attention and pets, always showing off her gentle temperament and excellent manners.

Tacoma
Tacoma is Tey's Mobility and Medical Alert Service Dog! With his steady temperament, gentle nature, and happy-go-lucky personality, Tacoma is the kind of dog everyone instantly falls in love with. He brings a calm, grounding presence wherever he goes and is always ready to work or offer a quiet moment of support when it’s needed most. He is also SO cute and loves to work hard for his mom!
